Admission to Mary Health of the Sick

Residency at Mary Health of the Sick is through a selection process that evaluates many factors.  To fully evaluate each applicant, an application must be submitted so that our Interdisciplinary Team can ensure Mary Health of the Sick can provide a safe and secure environment for the applicant.

After receipt of the application, the applicant is immediately placed on the waiting list. The effective date of the application is the date that the application is identified as received. The waiting list is not always sequential by date of application. Admission to Mary Health is based on many criteria as well as the type of bed Mary Health has at the time, not just the date of application.

Each fall a letter is sent to every applicant requesting the applicant to call the Business Office to confirm his/her wish to remain on the waiting list. If ther are any changes to the original application, this updated information should be mailed to Mary Health. All information is kept confidential.

Each resident is given care based on his/her diagnosis and individual needs. An interdisciplinary team, consisting of members from all departments, assesses each resident upon admission and every three months thereafter. Both the resident and his/her responsible party are invited to attend these assessment sessions. In addition to the Sisters who work at the hospital, Mary Health of the Sick employs more than 85 professional men and women. The employees work in various capacities and are intent on ensuring that the mission of the Sisters flourishes throughout the hospital.
